A dopplebock from Capital Brewing, Middleton, Wisconsin. 

This isn’t your typical dopplebock; it’s more like a dopple-marzen or double Oktoberfest.  A normal dopplebock will be rich and malty, rarely with roasted malt flavors, little to no hop flavor, with moderate to low bitterness.  But malt always dominates the flavor.  Autumnal fire breaks with tradition by incorporating loads of caramely and toasty malt flavor, amping up the hop bitterness, and riding the classic noble, Oktoberfest-style hop flavor through the middle of the beer.  Absolutely delicious.  Perfectly crafted lager, as only brewmaster Kirby Nelson could do.  Precision beermaking.  Ages well, flavor peaks in about three years.
