An Imperial Stout from Great Divide Brewing, Denver, Colorado.
Woah. Big roasted malt flavors, big enough to create a bitterness of their own, dominate both the aroma and the flavor. There's so much going on, I don't know where to begin. Hops explode though the caramely roasted malt flavors, settling to a mellow floral canopy at the back end. 9.5%? Holy crap. This is not some "toss everything into the brew kettle & see what happens" beer, this is refined, excellent stuff. A worthy addition to our fine beer lineup. Unreal.
